Choir:
The choir, directed by Jan Salsberry, meets for practice on
Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 PM from September through May. The
choir performs an anthem during the 10:30 AM worship service during
those months. A special Christmas program is performed by the choir
during the worship services a week or two before Christmas, and the
annual Music Sunday is the second Sunday of June. Anyone who enjoys
singing is welcome to join the choir. For more information, contact Jan
Salsberry at 547-7933
Fellowship Hour:
We have a monthly fellowship hour sponsored by that month's
Shepherd Team which meets following the 10:30AM service in the
fellowship hall on the second Sunday of the month. Rolls, fruit, cheese
and crackers along with coffee and juice are offered, and people are
encouraged to spend some time with one another in a more casual setting.
Funeral Dinners:
Georgia Meyer heads up the funeral dinners. The Women's
Fellowship supplies the meat and drinks, and ladies in the church bring
an assortment of salads, vegetables, and desserts under Georgia's
direction. This is all done for free; donations to the Women's
Fellowship are accepted. If you know someone who has lost a loved one
and would like to have a funeral dinner, please contact Georgia Meyer at
517-547-7577.
Holiday House:
The annual Holiday House and Quilt Show takes place the first
Saturday in November at the church from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Craft items
are for sale in the Holiday House, and along with several of the local
ladies' home-made quilts on display, there is a quilt raffle each year.
The quilt is made by the ladies of the church. Home-made second and
third prizes are also awarded. The Holiday House and Quilt Show is open
to the public, and entrance if free. Raffle tickets usually cost $1
each.
Kid's
Club:
Kid's Club is for all elementary aged children. It meets
the first and third Wednesdays of each month during the school year from
3:00 to 5:00 PM at the church. A typical Kid's Club meeting consists of
a Bible lesson, singing, snack, recreation, and sometimes crafts. Kids
earn Kid's Club points by attendance, memorizing Bible verses, and
bringing a friend to Kid's Club.
Children who earn 25,000 Kid's Club points are awarded a Kid's
Club T-shirt. Those who earn 50,000 are awarded a Kid's Club jacket.
Every 1,000 Kid's Club points makes one Kid's Club dollar, and there are
Kid's Club sales twice each year where the children get to purchase
prizes with their dollars. For more information contact Jody Saunders at
547-8056
Parish
Nurse Program:
Judy Clark is heading up the Parish Nurse Program. She has
an article about health and wellness in each of the Shepherd's Journals,
and heads up a free blood pressure screening during the fellowship hour
which takes place the second Sunday of each month at 11:00 AM. Our
thanks to the many nurses in our church who help out with this program.
Public
Luncheons:
The Women's Fellowship hosts a public luncheon the second
Thursday of each month from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. One or two main
entrees are provided y the Women's Fellowship, and ladies in the church
bring an assortment of salads, vegetables and desserts to round out the
all-you-can-eat meal. A suggested donation of $3.00 per person is
welcome. These luncheons are a source of fund raising for the Women's
Fellowship's many ministries.
